The Milan- San Remo withdraws the Pompeiana

The Milan- San Remo withdraws the Pompeiana

RCS Sport has announced that the course of the Milan – San Remo professionals of 23 March 2014 will return to the route of 2007, cancelling the new ascents of Pompeiana and Castellaro.

The reason for the decision is the heavy rains that have affected the Riviera during the last few weeks, causing several landslides, which has led to the closing of some minor local roads, including the link road between the coast and Castellaro.

The 105th Milan – San Remo is noted for being the ideal race for sprinters, who will compete to reach the finish line on the Italo Calvino seafront road in San Remo.o.

The participants in the Granfondo Milano-Sanremo Cicloturistica of 8 June will faithfully retrace the course of the professional race, having the opportunity to experience the same excitement that will lead the group from the Lombardy plain to the coast of the Ligurian Sea.
